リンクでつなぐ、もうひとつの電話システム。

「電話のリ・デザイン」 をテーマに作られた作品。

ジャパンアートスカラシップ 受賞作品。 「もしも最初の電話が 体外離脱をモチーフにつくられ、 それが現在まで 発展し続けたら？」 という観点から 「自分で飛んで探して 接続する 飛行テレビ電話」 の 模型として製作したもの。

６台のベッドは その上空の６台のフレームに電波でつながれ、 各フレームに付けられた 銀色のボール 「Bit」をコントロールし、 相手を捜す （ちょうど、Webのリンクがそうであるように） 。「Bit」にはカメラと スピーカーと マイクが付いており、 周りの状況を把握することができる。 ちなみにタイトルの「World System」 とは 「無線による情報と電力の世界規模での供給」 を夢見た科学者、 ニコラ・テスラ のプランの名前。

The theme of this project is "re-design for telephone".

Winner of Japan Art Scholorship. This is a model of a flying TV-telephone which by itself float to find and link to other people (just like WWW). An idea "What if the original telephone should motivated by the phenomenon of out of body. and has been developed up to the present?" made me realize this project. The title "World System" was taken from a plan of Nikola Tesla, a scientist who dreamt of universal supply of information and electricity by radio.
